The School enrolls students based on general majors, belonging to financial and economic categories. According to “thick foundation, wide caliber, strengthening practice, high-quality” training principles, in the former two years, students focus their studies on humanities and social science, science and technology, natural science and other general and basic courses in general discipline learning. After two-year study, in accordance with training plan, social needs, and individual voluntary, students can choose their majors from finance, financial information engineering, international economy and trade, economics, statistics, public finance, trade and Commerce, and e-business. According to university’s development and relevant regulations, some outstanding students may also begin their master learning.

The School only recruits full-time undergraduates from science and engineering candidates, with four years of schooling. Students can obtain a bachelor's degree in economics after completing the prescribed courses and credits.

Based on theoretical and applied economics and the strategy of “pay equal attention to application and research talents”, with science and engineering knowledge background (meaning with good basic knowledge of informatization, networking, and engineering), the School actively seeks the balance between all-rounder and expertise, theory and practice, so as to promote comprehensive education and cultivate high-quality innovative talents with self learning ability, international vision and sustainable competitiveness for economic and financial management departments, enterprises, financial institutions, scientific research units and government agencies.
